Excellent produce September 16, 2007 Jen (Columbus, OH) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I love this container...it helps me compost! Usually I am too lazy to take the food outside so it builds up in an unsightly pile in a bowl until I set it outside where the coons have their way with it and make a mess. This way I can store the compost until the container is full and then take it outside. It looks good and there is no smell!
Great for on the counter! October 4, 2007 A PA mom 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
No smell, no mess. Very handy way to collect kitchen waste for the compost bin. Simply rinse after emptying (I run mine through the dishwasher).
Pretty, but breakable. April 7, 2008 Jennifer G. Eldredge (RunningMom) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
So I bought this container about 3 months ago and we thought it was great. I had to get one after I found out that one household composting for a year rather than trashing it is like taking 8 million cars off the road. We loved it, it decreased our trash, looks good on the counter, we can put it in the dishwasher when it gets really nasty, the size is good. But today, after emptying it in my green bin, I was holding it by the handle and it must have come unhooked at the handles because it fell and broke. So I'm back on Amazon and deciding whether to go with the stainless or this one again. It really does look good on the counter and stainless might show fingerprints.
You can get the filters for this, but not from Amazon!!!! June 24, 2008 Maggie Smith 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Don't get the filters that come up on this page. They're for a different size keeper. I contacted Norpro and they said it is replacement 93F that goes with it. Do a google search, and a few options come up. Norpro also suggested: "Also try, Ace Hardware, True Value Hardware, Do It Best Hardware." But you would have to get them to special order it.
Just what I needed February 25, 2008 J.Pascuzzi (USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This ceramic kitchen crock is just what I needed. It blends in nicely with my semi-white kitchen and it sits on the counter awaiting for me to feed it kitchen scraps to be later transferred to my outside composter. I am careful when taking it to the composter to empty or to wash in sink, because it is ceramic. I find it that it is sturdy, but i don't hold it by the handles, just in case it comes loose. It's a great product....but obviously breakable...it's ceramic. So, I am just careful.
