Product Description Housed in a smooth, modern-looking design, this 1000-watt electric kettle rapidly boils up to 1 quart of water for coffee, tea, instant soups, and more. The unit features a detachable cord and a nonspill spout for graceful serving, plus a generous handle with a secure grip. Its immersed heating element provides a rapid and quiet heating process, making it ideal for the office, home, or college dorm. Dual water-level indicators allow for convenient filling, and the unit's easy-open lid is designed with a security lock to prevent spilling. And there's no need to worry about leaving it on, the kettle automatically shuts off when the water boils, and its boil-dry protection keeps the unit from boiling when there's no water left

Faster & Hotter than Microwaving June 15, 2006 W. Zollo (MA, USA) 60 out of 61 found this review helpful
I first became hooked on electric kettles when traveling in the U.K. and have kept putting off getting one. This is perfect for my six (O, heavens did I really say six!) cups of tea a day. Faster than the microwave (only because its actually boiled and hot) and no worrys about...did I leave the stove on as it has a brilliant auto shut-off. It even stays plenty warm enough to top off the first cup of tea. I love it, am only sorry it took this many years to indulge my self with such a simple product! P.S -- Terrific on snowy days when the kids come in and want hot coco...FAST! (Makes one feel like SuperMom for the rare second or two!!! )
Wonderful Electric Kettle August 26, 2006 Testfory2k (United States) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I can't believe that amazon put this on a one day sale for $10. I should have bought more. This is a wonderful electric kettle. I timed it to see how long it takes for the water to boil and it took exactly 5 minutes, then it automaticly shuts off. This kettle takes less time and energy to boil the same amount of water than my brand new stove top or microwave. You need to becareful though. Even the kettle is cool to the touch after water boils, you need to close cap tightly (when you hear a click) before flipping the switch on. Otherwise you can get burn by the scalding hot water.
Boils so fast! April 11, 2006 J. Conn (Pittsburgh, PA United States) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I asked for this for Christmas so I could make tea at my desk at work. I can't believe how fast this heats the water to a rapid boil! I also love that the cord detaches for easier pouring. The water is hot enough for tea, instant oatmeal and cup-a-soups; I've made all three easily at my desk with this. It's attractive and it has auto shut-off - good for those with short attention spans like me! The water stays warm enough in the pitcher that sometimes I can get a second cup of tea without turning it back on. You do have to have enough water to cover the coils before you turn it on, but that hasn't been a problem for me. I love this one. I used to have a HotPot that took FOREVER to boil the same amount of water.
Convenient and Safe January 4, 2007 K. Andrews 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I use this to boil water for my French Press and for making tea on a daily basis. It's more convenient than the stovetop and very safe when it comes to pouring the hot water out vs. pans, hot microwave cups, etc. The convenient display on the side of it shows you how much water you are heating, so if you only need 2 cups, it's easy to measure at the sink without pulling out the measuring cups or guesstimating. It's also very fast and the cord detaches from the kettle so it can be toted around without the cord coming with you. It's also great for carpet stains to heat the water up, pour it on a stain, and then use a little extractor to pull up the stain from the carpet. The more I use the kettle, the more I like it! I only wished I had ordered it years ago.
Polly, Put The Kettle On! November 10, 2006 J. Nowicki (Bay City, Michigan United States) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
. . . And we'll all have tea! That is exactly what this was meant to do. My wife likes to enjoy a nice cup of tea or hot chocolate when we are busy working outside in my garage workshop or doing what seems to be never ending yardwork. This is the perfect outdoor electric kettle to have on hand. We don't have to worry that it might break like a glass carafe would and we don't have to worry about turning it off. I just fill it up, put in on the tool bench, plug it in and wait for it to do its thing. All we have to do is sit down on the patio, admire Mother Nature and enjoy a good hot cup of tea. ~ The Boss
