Amazon.com Review Quicker and easier to use than a skillet, this 900-watt electric appliance simplifies the cooking of crepes and blintzes, making it foolproof. The 7-1/2-inch-diameter cooking surface is coated with nonstick material and is slightly convex. Dipping it into crepe batter coats it uniformly. Inverting the appliance and setting it on a counter (or dining table, for festive occasions) allows the crepe to cook, while the rubber feet protect the counter. The user then simply peels off the crepe. An automatic thermostat heats the cooking surface to the proper temperature, and a light signals when it's time to cook. The crepe maker, which features a stay-cool plastic handle, is accompanied by a plastic dishwasher-safe dipping plate to hold the batter. The crepe maker's instruction booklet contains recipes for various crepes and for blintzes. --Fred Brack

Man is this easy November 9, 2001 Rick Bloom (Charleston, South Carolina.) 97 out of 98 found this review helpful
I grew up in a Crepe lovin' household. We had sweet crepes for breakfast, savory crepes for lunch and meat filled crepes for dinner. I always have used a stove top crepe pan and thought it slow and kind of a pain. That is how my dad always did it so I always thought it was the best way. Not anymore. A friend recommended I try the Villaware electric crepe maker. Non stick coating, quick and easy. Boy were they right. Just dip the the cooker in the pan they include and you are making a crepe every 25 seconds or so. Easy to clean. I love this thing. Good recipes too, altough their basic recipe is not sweet enough. If you love crepes. This is the piece to get.
It's great! Try it at the dining room table. December 4, 2004 L. Paul (Chicago, IL) 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
My husband comes from a long line of crepe makers so I got this appliance for his birthday. At first he rolled his eyes at it (as a purist who likes to flip). With two little girls, though, we found the play value of this crepe maker to be great. It's so easy to use, he actually brought it to the dining room table so he could eat while he cooked. When we had guests, he had this machine going, along with two stove-top pans. He could make crepes 2-3x faster with this machine versus the stove top. The crepes are thinner using this method, but that didn't seem to be a problem. Only thing I'd change about this product would be to make the dipping pan of something other than plastic. I kept feeling paranoid that I'd melt the plastic when I dipped the hot pan into it. Overall, though, I'd highly recommend this product. In fact, we're buying it as a Christmas present for each of my husband's siblings.
Excellent Gadget-- Quick and Easy Crepes May 21, 2004 Quynce (Morgantown, West Virginia United States) 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I recieved this as a gift a month ago and have used it to make six batches of crepes. Its wonderful-- heats up in three minutes and crepes take about 30 seconds to bake. I used a regular crepe pan for several years: this is much easier. Crepes are great-- they always impress the guests and they are really easy to make ahead.
My new crepe baker February 16, 2005 Gaynell R. Mcginley (San Ramon, CA USA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
This crepe baker is definitely easy to use, and worth the money. The crepes were very good. I think perhaps that the manufacturer needs to update the instruction manual, however only a novice cook would be confused. I used the basic crepe batter recipe and let the batter rest an hour before baking.
French Club Success December 27, 2007 Katrine R. Pflanze (Pittsburgh, PA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought two of these crepe makers for my college's French club and we tried them out at our annual holiday party. They work really well, creating paper thin crepes that are better and easier to produce than with conventional crepe pans. This was a popular addition to the usual holiday fare, since guests found the appliance easy to use and enjoyed making the crepes.
