Amazon.com Review Add a key player to your own Le Creuset kitchen lineup or give a new homeowner an especially useful gift (holding a prepared meal inside, perhaps?) with this covered deep dish baker. Like all of Le Creuset's stoneware, the dish is fired at 2,156 degrees F to give it exceptional strength that is resistant to chipping, cracking, staining, and thermal shock. It is also impermeable to odors or flavors, and the enameled surface is easy to clean and resistant to scratches. A perennial favorite among cooks and bakers, stoneware ensures that food bakes evenly without hot or cold spots and keeps food warm longer the table. Looking for style and substance? Available in several vibrant colors, this baker features a rimmed edge for secure lifting and transport and a domed lid to seal in moisture and nutrients. It also bears Le Creuset's signature sculpted lines and name. The dish goes safely into the oven, microwave, refrigerator, and freezer; it is not suitable for stovetop use. It measures 11 inches long by 8-1/2 inches wide by 2 inches deep. Limited lifetime warranty. --Kara Karll

Highest Quality, Bright & Cheery! August 23, 2008 N. Batzel (Kansas) I love this Le Creuset pan! I have begun to buy individual Le Creuset pieces whenever Amazon has them listed for an incredibly low price, and this pan is a favorite. Very Cheery, glossy yellow color, heavy and easy to clean. Works great for everything from pork to brownies. I can't wait to ad more Le Creuset pieces to my multi-colored set.
The size will surprise you July 8, 2008 G. Hasul (Venice, FL USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First of all we really like the product, but were confused because the description read "Product Dimensions: 13.8 x 5.5 x 10.5 inches" THAT'S THE SIZE OF THE BOX, NOT THE PRODUCT. But I really think that's misleading. From the bottom of the pan to the top of the cover knob, it is 5.5 inches. When you open the box you'll see the correct (inside) dimensions printed on the product wrapper 10 3/4 x 8 1/2 x 2 1/4 inches. If you're expecting a 5" deep pan, you'll be disappointed.
Nice baker, great price June 27, 2008 Mary Poppins (Chicago, IL United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a nice covered baker. The size is really great, in my opinion. The interior dimensions are about 8.5" x 11", with the exterior dimensions being the larger size described in the shipping size section of the listing (10"x 13" or something like that). There was indeed a hole in the side of the knob on top of mine - my guess is that it's designed that way to allow interior heat to escape, although I can imagine how it would weaken the strength of the knob. My biggest complaint is that the lid doesn't sit very steadily on the lip - it kind of wobbles around and doesn't provide a very good seal. If I had paid full price, I definitely would be sending it back. However, I paid $16 for it, so I can deal. I couldn't get a LC baker without a lid for that...
Will knob break off? April 18, 2008 WiseWoman (South Eastern USA) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I ordered one of these in Kiwi over a year ago from Amazon. It's a beautiful baker; and the stoneware is wonderful to bake in--plus it cleans up easily, although a little scrubbing with nylon is sometimes needed or soaking overnight in sudsy water. I love Le Creuset's stoneware products and continue to collect them! The knob on the baker I ordered arrived with a hole bored through it which seemed to serve no purpose. It was livable withable and didn't affect appearance, so I kept the baker. However, the lid was evidentially hit a bit while in storage at home; and the knob cracked at the base and became loose. So this is a warning to store stoneware carefully and be advised that knobs are easily broken. It seems some of the newer Le Creuset bakers avoid this problem by getting rid of knobs!
Not what's advertised! June 4, 2008 Cheers 4 out of 14 found this review helpful
The low rating on this is for Amazon in this case, not for the product. When I ordered this item (in Citrus), what I received was a smaller version than what is shown in the product specs (more like 8 x 11 x 3). I requested Amazon reset the order for the right size, and the replacement shipment was exactly the same size as the first, with the added bonus of being packaged so poorly and loosely it had shattered during shipment. I submitted a second request for the correct product, at which point I received a message saying something to the effect of it being a bigger problem than they expected and they were unable to fulfill my order as requested. I'm sure this would be a wonderful product - if I could actually receive what I'm ordering...
