Product Description This Magnetic Knife Holder from MIU France is perfect for storing knives conveniently above the counter while keeping them out of the reach of small children. The strong magnet holds knives securely in place and the attractive stainless steel exterior will complement any decor. 20 inches long.
Amazon.com Review This handy knife bar keeps cutlery within the chef's reach above a busy prep station but still safely out of reach of little hands. The 20-inch bar is long enough to hold an entire collection of kitchen knives and is inch wide and 2 inches thick for supporting wider blades, such as cleavers. The bar is magnetic to securely hold knives, but is encased in 18/10 stainless-steel to lend an attractive accent to your kitchen. Screws for mounting the bar are included. --Cristina Vaamonde

Best quality magnetic strip I've seen. November 27, 2005 Vyshtia (CA, USA) 33 out of 35 found this review helpful
My knives are a crucial part of my kitchen and I want only the best for them, so I wanted to go with a magnetic strip. Hiding your knives in a drawer is a shame, can be dangerous if they're just free floating in there, and can also dull them if they bang around with other items. Not good Keeping knife blocks on your counter eats up counter space and is just bulky. Many times I have to guess which knife is in which slot too, and if I have knifes that don't fit in the block, or more knives...I end up with knives in the drawer or multiple blocks. Not good. My knives are beautiful and I love having them displayed out in the open. It also makes for easy retrieval. I hung this strip up right up above where I work, so when I need to switch from my Chef's Knife to a Paring knife, I just reach up, grab the handle and there it is! Very easy, no having to fumble to open a drawer or guess which knife it is in the knife block. Of all the magnetic strips I've seen, this one is the largest, heavy, durable, great styling, and has the best quality. My only want for it is to be bigger...although, if it were any longer, I would have a hard time finding a place to mount it, so I think just buying another one would be the way to go. It doesn't have to just be for knives either. I have many steel items that I think would be perfect mounted on this strip. The possibilities are endless! Bottom line, I would definitely recommend a magnetic strip as a way to store knives. I would definitely recommend this strip over the others if you care about quality and looks.
Absolutely perfect. January 25, 2006 Katy Lake (The People's Republic of New Jersey) 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I have an incredibly small kitchen that's just finishing a remodeling two years in the making. Since no walls were knocked out, utilizing every square inch of space is still a priority, and this knife rack does it in style. But since the kitchen's so small, you might be wondering why I went for the bigger knife rack. That's cause the place I intended to put it is on a cabinet that butts up against the cooktop. The cabinet's the traditional 24 inches wide, so this rack centered perfectly in that space, and enabled me to toss the counterspace-eating knife block. Stainless steel's a big component in this remodel, so this knife rack fits in perfectly. I put it up myself, so let me warn you - it's HEAVY. I drilled two holes at the right height, but for the life of me, I couldn't screw in the rack towards the backsplash. A hint you might helpful is to use masking or painters tape to tack up the center of it until you can drive the screws in (leave the easier screw out a bit so you have room to maneuver; when the back screw is in, you can tighten both.) See? All those hours watching home improvement shows weren't for naught! The one thing I found a bit puzzling was the "S" design in the rack. I couldn't tell from the pictures if that was a recessed or raised design. Well, if you were wondering, let me tell you it's a cut-out S. At first I thought if it was raised, I'd only have enough room to store the knives between the raised design, but because it's just an incised figure, you can put as many knives on this thing as you can jam! (There are two magnets, the long, thin, horizontal strips that frame the S design.) The knives are held firmly, but it's easy to remove them with little effort. I know some folks seem to be having a problem with it. I'm scarcely Superman, and I have no difficulty pulling them from the rack without beheading anyone. If you have the space, go for the 20 incher. You'll save $20 over Amazon's suggested retail, and it's a better buy than the smaller model. I highly recommend it, esp. if you want a design statement that adds to the appeal and space demands of a small kitchen.
This is one strong magnetic bar I have ever used October 22, 2004 Mandy Lee (New York, NY USA) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
This 20" long stainless steel magnetic knife holder will keep your all your knives within normal reach above a busy prep station. It can also be mount at the back splash of the countertop. It is long enough to hold at least ten kitchen knives and is 2 inches thick for supporting wider blades, such as cleavers. The brush stainless steel make a very attractive accent to any home. Even come with screws for mounting the bar but recommend to go get a pair of stronger wing type mounting bolt for additional security. Get couple for your garage for all your screwdrivers, priers and hammer. A 5 stars product.
KEEPS KNIVES SHARPER..... September 16, 2005 Sheri A. Sigley (White Salmon, WA) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
easier to retrieve knives for use and looks terrific! Bought this just before Christmas, 2004 to hang my 8 brand new Wusthof Grand Prix knives on and 2 pairs of Henckels kitchen shears. I'm happy to say that this thing is a rock!! It has never become loosened from the wall and not one of my knives have ever fallen off it. In addition, I've only once had to sharpen a few of my more often used knives. With the big, bulky wooden storage block, I would have sharpened them several more times by now, it's off my counter and not taking up valuable counter space and no more "sawdust" created from sliding knives into spaces (no wonder I had to sharpen them more often)! I love this thing! I have had several compliments from people who are observant and they wanted to know where they could get such a nifty, great-looking thing to hang their knives on. Of course I told them Amazon had the best price. My only regret: That I didn't buy a bigger one! Am planning to purchase 6 Wusthof Grand Prix steak knives and since we use steak knives so often I want to hang those, too, but, alas my great magnetic strip is full up! Think I'll purchase one of the smaller magnetic knife strips....
Best I've owned and stylish too November 17, 2005 Samuel H. Hughes (Redmond, WA USA) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
The first time I saw one of these was when I worked in a professional kitchen. I've had a few over the year since then and honestly don't ever want a kitchen without one. I actually had a half wall built just to put this one on in my current kitchen. Anwyay, this one is better than average because: It mounts more securely than average and more easily. The little round black end is actually a piece of plastic that you can pop out to get at the plaster anchors. Then they are covered again. This is much better than the Wustoff one I used to have that basically hung off the screws on the wall. This way is nice and solid instead of a little wobbly. Also, the magnet is just the right strength... not to strong. Many bars are too strong, so you almost stab yourself wehn you pull the knife off. Also, some are too weak to hold cleavers. This one is just great. Also, I thought it might look kinda cheap, but it's really solid and nice. The outer ring is brushed aluminum or steel... not sure. Then it has a chrome center and the black caps. Looks great a stainless appliance kitchen or black stone counters... or both. Also, this is the only one I could find in sizes as small at 15". If you have a small space, that would be handy too. Get one. You won't regret it.
