Excellent knives!! May 23, 2006 N. Johnston (New York, NY) 41 out of 42 found this review helpful
Even though I already own a very expensive set of Henckels knives, I purchased this Chicago Cutlery set for the convenience of extra knives. Chicago Cutlery was highly rated by Consumer Reports, which is why I decided to try the brand. You wouldn't expect inexpensive knives to be so good, but this set is really very impressive. These knives are a pleasure to use in the kitchen (I'm an avid cook) and were worth every penny. So if you don't want to spend several hundred dollars on top quality knives, Chicago Cutlery is definitely the way to go for good knives.
Excellent set of knives January 10, 2007 MB (Atlanta, Georgia) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I got this set as a Christmas present, and it's the nicest set of knives I've had, I never sprang for a really good set before, and for the price, these were a bargain. They look very sleek, and while yes, they really should be handwashed, I don't mind if that keeps them looking nice. I havent used the sharpening implement, I'm a novice, so I'll most likely take them to be sharpened professionally. They are attractive, work phenomenally well, and a great price.
Good Quality cutlery for the price & brand!! March 16, 2007 Carmen Baez (PA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Hooray for Chicago Cutlery!! I never thought you could actually get a good quality cutlery at this great "reasonable" price!! I had spent money buying cutlery sets that actually rust all the time and I had to throw out or give away but I didn't want spent neither over $100.00 on one!! I brought this brand as my last effort and tryout!! I couldn't believe that it didn't only look good, expensive it cut well and I didn't have to be afraid of how to handle the knives so they won't rust!! I love them & like looking at them from afar!! Those super expensive brands we all know and would like to have if we all could afford them have no real match!!
A very sharp deal! July 30, 2007 R. Kraus 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've had another set of knives for about 3 years and they were such a disappointment. I didn't think anyone made really good sharp knives for an affordable price anymore. But I checked out the reviews of this set and thought I'd try again--plus the price was reasonable. They are beautiful and work so well! I'm just delighted with my new set of Chicago Cutlery knives.
Good Looking Knives January 18, 2007 MC (NY, NY) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought these knives b/c they look great and they were a bargain at around 40 dollars. The wood block is very nice and fits well in my cabnit, however the set would look even better if I had space to place it on a counter top. The 1 piece metal design looks great and is super easy to keep clean and sanitary. As someone pointed out, the knives aren't the sharpetst comming out of the box so you should get your sharpener ready. I tried the steel and it improved the dullness right away, but I think I am going to get a hand held sharpener as teh steel is only for maintaining an edge and not necessarily for sharpening. Other than that these knives can't be beat and I'd recommend them to anyone.
