Monitor temperatures with this easy-to read wireless temperature station from industry leader, LaCrosse Technology. Simple and sleek in design, the temperature station allows users to assess outdoor temperatures to plan appropriately for weather conditions while also keeping an eye on the indoor climate for energy efficiency and maximum comfort. The temperature station receiver features an adjustable LCD screen, which relays conditions including the time, date, indoor and outdoor temperatures, and the minimum and maximum temperature recordings. Temperatures can be displayed by either Fahrenheit or Celsius degrees, while time of day can be viewed in 12- or 24- hour formats. To monitor outdoor conditions, a LaCrosse TX6U sensor is included. The sensor transmits information to the receiver from up to 80 feet at a 433.92MHz frequency. Transmission through walls reduces this range. While the sensor fares well in fog or mist, shelter it to prevent rain damage. The temperature system measures temperatures ranging from +32 to +140 degrees F. The outdoor sensor registers temperatures ranging from -21.8 to +157.2 degrees F. With a radio-controlled time and date function, the temperature station automatically updates for Daylight Savings Time or travel to a new time zone. The temperature station hangs or can stand upright on a tabletop. The outdoor sensor comes with a mounting hardware. Separate purchase of four AA alkaline batteries is required to power the temperature station and sensor. Replace batteries annually for best results. The weather station accommodates up to three outdoor sensors. LaCrosse encloses a thorough manual for setting up the weather station. This product is covered under a limited one-year warranty. Inexpensive, works well. Previous people noted that their outdoor sensors died on them. I have mines wrapped in plastic wrap inside a ziplock bag. Has been raining so much in Michigan, and just started snowing. Temp has been very accurate inside and outside. Just make sure to protect the outdoor sensor from water. It might look cheesy wrapped in plastic, but that's better than it breaking.

I have had my model for a couple of years and other than a battery change, it has been great. Mine has 2 stations, one that I keep in the kitchen and one in the family room. My only advice is to find a place for your outdoor sensor so that it is out of the direct sun or that will skew your outdoor readings severely. Love it and would buy again in a second.

I bought this in June along with the TX3U (wireless waterproof probe) to use with my hot tub. It's worked out really well; it allows me to see the indoor temperature and the hot tub temperature at a glance, and one press of the button to view the outside temperature. The atomic clock feature is great especially at this price point, it's always right and I don't have to worry about keeping it set. I've had no issues at all with contrast or readability, and all 3 items (the station, the outdoor sensor, and the probe sensor) are still going strong on the same batteries after 6 months.
I know people who spent 3 times as much on setups to get the same functionality with atomic clock, 3 temperature monitoring points, etc. There's no weather prediction on this model, but for covering all the basics, there's just no way to beat this unit.

Received the unit in excellent condition at the expected time. Following the instructions, the unit is easy to setup. I had the unit functioning in less than 10 minutes, excluding mounting. We are very pleased with the operation and accuracy of the unit.

I ordered this from Amazon for just over $13. If you follow the manual that comes with the temperature station you shouldn't have any problem (batteries in wireless sensor first, put devices within 5 feet of each other to initialize, etc). I rushed ahead and the station didn't read the wireless sensor at first. Someone previously wrote the display is hard to see. There is an option to change the contrast of the display on a scale from 1 to 7. I put mine on 7 and can read it from 20 feet away. The station is a little over 5 1/2" high by 3" wide. My wireless sensor is mounted outside from about 25 feet away and the station picks up the signal without any problems. Overall I'm very satisfied.
