Takes the accumulated stains and odor from sweating not only from my athletic, technical apparrel, but from towels, sheets, etc November 1, 2007 John P. Thiel (Astoria, Queens, New York City) 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
On my athletic apparrel Win does an entirely thorough job and I don't find it too fragrant when used as noted on the label--which says a full cap is enough for a large size load. I put in a half cap (up to the first measuring line) initially, and another half cap when the washer gets to the wash cycle and that's plenty for an average load of wash. My first test of it was actually not on my technical apparrel. I tried it with normal laundry including cotton undershirts which had the accumulated soil of a Summer's worth of work days, and my bath towels which I couldn't seem to get the stink of years (they might be older than me!) of post cycling showers out of. It took care of all of this, eradicated that unique stink of sweat that only comes from endurance sports, and did a rather good job of taking out the stains from, say, the collars of my dress shirts and my pillowcases which would normally only get worse with time eventually sending them to the rag bin. My favorite cycling jersey was in that test load, which I had washed after every ride before but was still looking kind of disgusting, now looks brand new again. The next test was the ultimate. I have a cycling jacket that's over 5 years old, and which I've worn for thousands upon thousands of miles of riding. I've washed it many times, but it was easy to tell that when I wore it again it would stink almost as bad as if I hadn't washed it at all, and after only one ride. I was really thinking I would have to get a new one just because the smell bothered me over the hours I'd spend on the saddle smelling it. Win not only got rid of the smell, but it's obvious that the materials are as clean as they were when the jacket was new, and without destroying the waterproof taping that 'technical wash' detergents are bound to do with all but brand new items. The reflective striping on this jacket also shows a lot more brightly than it did after washing with other detergents. BOTTOM LINE: When I lived in Japan, the detergent there did a rather good job, perhaps even as good, but the laundry soaps in the States leave a residue that doesn't wash clothes so much as brighten them and add fragrance. The answer to that until now was to use Woolite, but Woolite is too gentle on fabrics that can and should take a stronger detergent. Win is just strong enough without being too harsh on your more delicate items. I'm going to be using Win from now on not only for my performance fabrics on occassion--because the stuff is too expensive to use all the time--but once in a while on my regular clothing as well. Great stuff if used as per directions.
Does just what it says! February 6, 2007 J. Paul (USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is a surprisingly good product! It really does clean and freshen sports clothing. I am a personal trainer and fitness instructor and was skeptical, but a colleague recommended it and now I'm a regular user. Don't need to use it every single time, just once in a while to keep things "fresh".
It really works! March 25, 2007 Seattle Runner (Seattle, WA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I had tried every product out there to get the smell out of workout clothes and nothing worked. I was shocked to find that WIN really made a difference. My closet no longer smells like a locker room! It takes about 2 or 3 washings to really notices a big difference, but even after the first use you use you can tell it's starting t work! I've gotten lots of friends and family hooked on it also!
It will get the stink out of almost anything you can wash. August 10, 2007 F. Auguste 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Its a mild scent but its very powerful. I had one particular shirt I work out in at the gym with that I could not rid of a stink. I washed it in many things and hot water...no luck. I finally ordered this stuff and it work on the first try. Be warned it leaks on transit to you.....even though its sealed in plastic. Well worth the money though.
Fabulous stuff October 27, 2007 Catherine M. Ketcham (Newberry, FL) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My son, husband and I have spent a lot of money on quality workout clothing, only to have it absolutely stink even when "clean". (We live in Florida and sweat quite a bit. We mostly run and lift weights.) In desperation we tried this detergent and think it is great. I have a high-efficiency front-loading washer, which requires special low-suds detergent, and this detergent thankfully can be used in this type of machine. I do not like the fact that my eight bottles were just thown into a big box because there was some leakage. Despite that, I am going to order it regularly and use it for all my laundry.
