Frustrating! August 7, 2005 T. Sarver (Lapeer, MI USA) 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
I purchased this for my child directly from her school. Initially, she was enjoying the game. But for one math section "Recipe for Disaster", it employs a "trial and error" method for solving problems, our whole family spent nearly an hour with calculators, and algebraic formulas to try to determine these amounts. Example: You have to get exactly 1.451 ml of fluid. You have 4 cups measuring: 0.668, 0.577, 0.140, and 0.035. It is up to your child to determine which cups to use. It is all really just trial and error. In short, this part of the game is only serving to foster my child's thought that she can't "Get" math. It is frustrating for her, and she dreads having to play the game. I am frustrated because it's difficult for her father and I as well. Whatever happened to learning to basics? I am very disappointed in this section of the game.
a bit too hard February 7, 2006 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
this game is very hard, especially the chemistry parts of it. other than that it is another good edition to your cluefinder collection.
