Product Description The lovable heroine of Confessions of a Shopaholic and Shopaholic Takes Manhattan is back!—in a hilarious tale of one blushing bride who just can’t say no to saying “I do.”
Life has been good for Becky Bloomwood: She’s become the best personal shopper at Barneys, she and her successful entrepreneurial boyfriend, Luke, are living happily in Manhattan’s West Village, and her new next-door neighbor is a fashion designer! But with her best friend, Suze, engaged, how can Becky fail to notice that her own ring finger is bare? Not that she’s been thinking of marriage (or diamonds) or anything . . . Then Luke proposes! Bridal registries dance in Becky’s head. Problem is, two other people are planning her wedding: Becky’s overjoyed mother has been waiting forever to host a backyard wedding, with the bride resplendent in Mum’s frilly old gown. While Luke’s high-society mother is insisting on a glamorous, all-expenses-paid affair at the Plaza. Both weddings for the same day. And Becky can’t seem to turn down either one. Can everyone’s favorite shopaholic tie the knot before everything unravels?

In typical Becky fashion... March 11, 2003 Dianna Johnston (Joplin, MO) 28 out of 32 found this review helpful
Reading the Shopaholic series has got to be the most fun I've had (reading-wise!) in a long time. Sophie Kinsella has created a genius character in Becky Bloomwood and a hilarious -- yet frustrating -- storyline for her in all three books, and I just can't get enough! This time around, Becky has finally got it under control. She is happily paired with boyfriend, Luke; they are living together in fabulous New York City; Becky's job as personal shopper at Barney's couldn't be better; and things are going well with her family and friends. But when attending best friend, Suze's, wedding, Becky realizes there is something missing her life -- an engagement ring. However, Luke is one step ahead of the game -- he proposes to Becky and all is well with the world...or so it seems... Suddenly, Becky finds herself in a new dimension of bridal registries, wedding planners, engagement parties and more! Her old shopping habits rise to the surface when it comes to picking out cookware -- I mean, who doesn't need a state-of-the-art toaster? But believe it or not, there is a much worse predicament that Becky's got herself into -- she's somehow agreed to getting married in two different places. Now how is she going to get herself out of this mess? Read on to find out... Shopaholic Ties the Knot is pure fun. Becky is just as outrageous as ever, although this time, I believe, she is also pretty frustrating. Sophie Kinsella has done an excellent job with this new chapter in Becky's life and if you loved the first or second book, you won't be disappointed with the third. The ending of this novel left room for another in this series -- let's hope and pray Sophie Kinsella is listening. Becky Bloomwood is one character I'd rather not do without.
Our Favorite Shop-Till-You-Drop Girl Is Back March 12, 2003 Antoinette Klein (Hoover, Alabama USA) 18 out of 20 found this review helpful
Loyal followers of the Shopaholic series have seen Becky Bloomwood through a lot of things---but now life has never been better for Becky. Not only does she have her dream job (personal shopper at Barney's) and live in a shopper's paradise (Manhattan) but she has just become engaged to long-time boyfriend Luke via a highly romantic and original proposal. Nothing could go wrong for Becky now, or could it? If Becky's mother is planning a traditional family wedding in England while Luke's mother is planning the most extravagant wedding imagineable at the fashionable Plaza in New York and both weddings are scheduled for the same day, you mighy say Becky has a problem. The girl who could never say no to a Vera Wang dress, a Prada sample sale, or new shoes from Christian Louboutin apparently can't say no to either wedding. But even Becky can't be two places at one time, or can she?Becky still has an eye for a fine piece of apparel, but it is Luke who has tremendous character growth in this installment, as he becomes less of an accessory for Becky and a multi-layered man in his own right. Old friends like Suze, Tarquin, and Tom from next door are also there as Becky's wedding day approaches with all the laughter, angst, and turmoil we've come to expect from Sophie Kinsella's brilliant series.
Laughed my ...off! March 13, 2003 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Becky getting married?! Luke suddenly pops the question and the ensuing trials and tribulations are hilarious! I don't want to give much away, I hate when people do that. If you liked the first two, you'll love this one... even if it does have a bit more drama than the previous ones. Also recommended: NO ONE'S EVEN BLEEDING and DELANO
Shopaholic Does it Again! January 10, 2004 Ashley Ellis (Ft Lauderdale, FL United States) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Shopaholic Ties the Knot is the third book about Becky Bloomwood and her boyfriend Luke. Becky has moved to New York and now has the absolutely perfect job, personal shopper at Barneys! She's blissfully happy with her job and wonderful boyfriend, Luke. When he proposes, she couldn't be more thrilled. Until the battle of the mother-in-laws starts.Becky's mother wants her to get married back in London, while Luke's overbearing mother wants an all-out, no expenses spared wedding at the Plaza. Both sound good to Becky and with Luke stressing out over work, she ends up not saying no to either wedding! So now she has two weddings being planned on two continents on the same date! This novel is yet another wonderful story by Sophie Kinsella about an intriguing and fun character who has a shopping obsession! The thing I liked better about this book over the previous two is that it focused more on Becky and her relationships with her mother and Luke, and had slightly fewer shopping trips. Becky is still the same hilarious girl, always entangling herself in some kind of mess - but I felt this book delved a little deeper in to her and some of the other characters in the book. Shopaholic Ties the Knot is another great read by Kinsella, I highly recommend picking it up along with Confessions of a Shopaholic and Shopaholic Takes Manhatten. All three are light-hearted and fun, very easy to read and very difficult to put down once you start.
I read it and love it March 5, 2003 Ms. S. TEO (New York, NY) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was lucky enough to have purchased this book when I visited my friend in London last Thanksgiving. This is probably the funniest Shopaholic book ever. It just keeps getting better! I love the other two shopaholic books but this one is just so beefy! Becky Bloom is getting married and goes through the ups and downs of wedding planning, (plus a lot of shopping on the side), as well as the pressures of in-laws, being in NYC high society (her mother-in-law), and staying true to her English roots. It's romantic, terribly funny, and just and all-around feel good novel.
