George Forever! April 22, 2008 slypig (Portland, Oregon) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
So I grew up with my sis who is 5 yrs older than me. We shared a room and she had every G.M. possible. Anyway, he announced a US tour. So I ordered this cd, then my sis called me and bought us tickets to the concert! Anyway, these two discs have most of the best songs on it, although I am miffed that "Monkey" and "I want your Sex" are not included and I think they belong on there more than the newer songs. But they are good too. If you love George and you like to have mental flashback of where you were when you heard these songs, etc. then I reccommend buying this so you get all of the way from Wham to Faith! ps. My sister still doesn't want to believe he likes boys... She does have a tattoo on her foot of his symbols from some album!!! What a freak.
George at his best May 9, 2008 Mr. Justin M. Evans (Wiltshire, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Brought this american edition of the cd, already have the english, just for one track that is currently not available in th UK. 'Feeling Good' is perfect to show off George's vocal talent and range. Love the rest of the tracks too. Well worth a visit to see him on his 25 Live tour if you get a chance. We went 3 times and each night was as good as ever. Fans for life!!
IT IS GREAT May 3, 2008 Seba.GM (Italy) It is a fantastic collection of songs from one of the best singer / songwriter in the world.
Excellent Cd can't wait for the concert in Tampa... May 8, 2008 Deborah J. Lamb (Orlando, FL USA) I absolutely love George Michale, and I'm very excited that he will be performing in Tampa in August of this year. I'm a huge fan, and this cd is just superb.
Twenty-five years of George Michael May 15, 2008 andy8047 (Nokomis,Florida) One reviewer said that this album was released in the UK in 2006 and finally released in the US this year. I say "twenty-five years of George Michael" because he had put out his Wham! debut album FANTASTIC twenty-five years ago. Wham! remained little-acknowledged until the 1984 blockbuster release MAKE IT BIG. Michael and Wham! may have debuted in the UK in or around 1981. This reviewer also said, which is true, that this collection is very similar to another set,the 1998 double-disc release of LADIES AND GENTLEMEN-THE BEST OF GEORGE MICHAEL. You get in this collection the MIB hits WAKE ME UP BEOFRE YOU GO-GO,EVERYTHING SHE WANTS and CARELESS WHISPER(CW may be the single version although the album version is played on the radio as well). A DIFFERENT CORNER is a nice easy listening piece from MUSIC FROM THE EDGE OF HEAVEN,released in 1986. You also have from Michael's Grammy-winning '87 solo debut FAITH(which won the Album Of The Year in '88),the title track,FATHER FIGURE and ONE MORE TRY. MOTHER'S PRIDE is from the '90 follow-up LISTEN WITHOUT PREJUDICE. Again recycled is Elton John's and Bernie Taupin's DON'T LET THE SUN GO DOWN ON ME,a live duet between Michael and EJ. This 1991 recording was initially released as a single, then on EJ's DUETS album, then on EJ's LOVE SONGS album, then on LAG. Michael had been dropped from Columbia Records, the label he even recorded on during the Wham! era. He had been assigned to a smaller label, releasing OLDER in 1996. From OLDER is JESUS TO A CHILD which was relased initially as a single in January 1996. Another interesting track is JOHN(Lennon) AND ELVIS(Presley) ARE DEAD,Michael's personal tribute to the ex-Beatle and King of Rock And Roll. The other songs are awesome!
