Album Description The hottest thing in kids' music returns! The Laurie Berkner Band's catchy tunes and joyful lyrics not only earned them a regular role on Jack's Big Music Show on NOGGIN, but also numerous awards, rave reviews and a following of preschoolers and parents nationwide. Now the band "blasts off" with their first studio album in over six years with Rocketship Run, a collection of 20 new songs that's the highly anticipated follow-up to her best-selling, chart-topping DVD from 2006 We Are...The Laurie Berkner Band. Featuring new original songs written by Berkner, and her first-ever collaborations with bandmates Susie Lampert and Adam Bernstein. Additionally, fans will be thrilled to finally be able to own the title track, which has already been featured on NOGGIN for a year as well as enjoy a cover of the much-beloved standard "Fly Me to the Moon."

Laurie Berkner = Magic August 7, 2008 Jason Gillespie (Sonora, CA United States) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I have two daughters, age 6 and 2. We stumbled upon Laurie's music on Noggin a few years ago, and have been adding her albums to our collection since that time. I can hardly express how this music fills me with joy. I watch my children dancing around the living room to Fast and Slow - they call to me to join them, and then all three of us are spinning around the living room. There is something different about this; we have music by Raffi, Steve and Greg, etc. and at the very best, I can tolerate it. Still, if any music by those other artists pops up on my iPod during my daily commute, I can't get to the controls quickly enough to skip the music. When Laurie comes on, I not only leave it along, but I sing along and usually feel happier by the time the song is over. For fans of previous Laurie Berkner albums - this continues in the tradition of her previous efforts - inventive lyrics and great, catchy tunes. I would say that the overall production on the album is a notch above previous efforts, and that the songs have a slighly more mature feel without losing Laurie's unique understanding of a child's heart. There are 5 songs that will instantly take their place among your favorite children's tunes: Rocketship Run, Candy Cane Jane, Fast and Slow, Mouse in My Toolbox, and All Around My Room. There is something very special about an artist who can create and perform music that is technically sophisticated, inventive, occasionally hilarious, and doesn't talk down to kids. A treasure for my whole family, for the preschool children I know and work with, and highly, highly recommended.

I posted a review and it disappeared. So I'm posting again to say we LOVE this CD!! It's definately a "treasure." We have listened to it about 10 times since we got it on Tuesday! Thanks Laurie, Susie and Adam!
packaging is eco-friendly August 13, 2008 RoxyM (Chicago, IL USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
To the person who complained about the packaging looking cheap - this was a conscious choice because it is better for the environment than using the "classic" plastic jewel case.
I will gladly take off to planet Berkner August 9, 2008 JRay Ayone can listen to her music and it will make their day! My kids love it...both my 2 year old and six year old. I love it also. It is a plus when I just love the music my kids love. It helps our day be joyous!!!
Love Laurie!! August 10, 2008 V. Glick (New Jersey) Love it, love it, love it! Laurie Berkner has done it again. What an amazing artist. All of the songs are great including the title song. Our 2 year old has played it non-stop since we got it. All he wants to listen to is Laurie. Oh and I have to give her much credit for the cd packaging by being enviromentally friendly and not using plastic.
