little Jewel January 9, 2008 Tommy J (Surprise, AZ United States) 68 out of 69 found this review helpful
Best camera I have ever seen for the price. At 7 Mpix the pictures are sharp and clear as a bell. The camera is easy to use and hold with my big hands. The menu is logical and easy to follow. It has more features of any camera under $200 that I have seen. The variable timer is easy to set and use. The flash flashes twice in red eye mode to eliminate the red eye effect. There are 5 flash features and off. The LCD is sharp and clear with a square in center for aiming. There are indicator icons around the edges depending on options set... There are more options than I am familiar with. It uses two AA batteries with an indicator of charge. You can use rechargeables and the camera has a power setting for the different battery types. The camera does video and sound recordings. It has a SD slot that is easy to get to. I bought a 2 GIG for my camera. Many many pictures... You can set the pixel density of pictures to increase or decrease picture quality. There is 16MB internal memory. When the SD card is in all pictures automatically go to card. The camera has a 3X zoom plus a 4X electronic zoom. This give a total zoom of 12X, works great... The picture editor can recenter and crop the picture. Really neat feature... Also you can set the Digital Print Order Format (DPOF) for printing and the number of copies. I have never seen this feature on a camera before... Plus you can use your own picture when the camera boots up. Neat but not necessary. Also, It has a burst shutter select. You can take continuous pics without using the snap button... The snap button is a different shape than the other buttons and is easy to find without looking... Half down previews pic, full down take picture... There are more features than I have mentioned. This is a truly remarkable camera. It is well made and solid as a rock. It fits in my shirt pocket, neat.. The camera comes with a USB cable, nice case, two AA batteries (good ones). Also, a CD with a picture editor and a carry strap... Plus a cable that will plug the camera into a TV set so you can play your videos... Never seen that before... Power consumption seems no worse than most cameras this size. I haven't had it long enough for a reliability check but I believe that won't be an issue... Instruction book is very well done and easy to read... The camera is not a camera for kids. It is much too complex. For a gadgeteer like me it is super... This camera is a keeper!!!
great camera February 16, 2008 ARTURO CORONADO (Houston) 18 out of 19 found this review helpful
Great camera..the only thing I had a problem with was the memory cards. I tried a Kingston 1gb and Transcend 4gb and didnt work. I tried a Sandisk 2gb it worked. Camera is easy to use and has a lot of features.

This is a great camera for someone who only wants to take pics for their own enjoyment. If I was a pro I don't think this would the camera of choice. For me I just wanted I could take to birthday parties, golfing, etc., and wouldn't be scared if I lost it or broke it. With that said, it still takes great pictures easily. Good camera and good price thanks amazon.

I got this camera as a back-up and WOW! This camera does what my $300 camera does and I mean everything!! Amazingly, it uses much less battery power too. It is still on max power after 40 pictures with flash! But get this: It is under $100.00!! This is a ***** buy!
Surprisingly features for the price February 19, 2008 Carl Berger (Saint George, Utah USA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I expected a simple knock-about camera for snaps, what I got what a surprisingly sophisticated strong featured camera. Not easy to learn all the features but you can just click away in the simplest mode with no worry. I won't repeat the excellent reviews of the features above except for one fine feature: You can even take three pictures in quick succession with 1/3 EV underexposed, one normal and one 1/3 EV over exposed. This means you can select the best exposure and/or make a High Dynamic Range (HDR) image. Something only easily done with cameras at $500-700. I even tried it with an infrared filter and it did a very credible job. If this camera holds up it'll be, by far. my most used and most favored daily camera! We'll.... it didn't hold up! After using it for a week the internal SD memory card holder latch broke and now you have to hold both the batteries and the card down while carefully closing the battery door. Still works well but soon the battery door hinge will break and then it's goodbye camera. All in all it is a good came to have someone learn extra features and you don't have to worry handing it around at a wedding party.
