Best bang for the buck March 19, 2007 H. Bates (Oregon) 134 out of 144 found this review helpful
My wife owns the gunmetal black high end v-moda earbuds and to tell the truth, those have NOTHING on these as far as sound (except for looking cooler and costing twice as much). Yes, they may be a little more durable (and heavy) due to material (metal vs plastic), but as far as sound goes, you will NOT be disappointed with these. Now having said that, you must experiment with the various ear inserts so that you get the one that fits "just right". But when you find that, you will be amazed at the sound of these. They are also extremely comfortable.
Lovin' them so far! March 2, 2007 J. L. Cook (Johnstown, NY USA) 78 out of 84 found this review helpful
I bought a Sansa E-250 (reviewed elsewhere) which I really like. I thought the sound was good but I didn't care much for the earbuds. They were quite uncomfortable after wearing them awhile. I began shopping around for replacements, but shopping online is difficult because you can't test the sound or the comfort. So, I relied on the good reviewers here at Amazon. My search led me to these V-MODA Bass Freq earbuds. I chose the black. The only negative to these earbuds is the difficulty in getting them out of the packaging. Once that was done, I plugged them into the E-250 and gave them a try. You really need to experiment with all the earpieces. I started with the small but they were too loose to give good sound and they fell out. Like Goldilocks, I kept trying the different sizes, until I found the best fit. Once you find the best fit, you will also experience the best sound. I was extremely pleased with the sound of these earbuds. They are far better than the ones that came with the Sansa and WAY more comfortable. I have not touched the equalizer yet, because I'm pleased with the sound, but I'll probably experiment with it to see if I can improve the sound even more. These earbuds are a great bang for the buck. They sound great and are comfortable in the ears. It's a totally new listening experience.

Since my ear canals are small, the earphones that came with my new iRiver Clix did not fit at all. So for the first time, I really went looking for a new pair of earphones. I was also looking to get the most out of my Clix. I went onto Cnet reviews and read about the Shure's, the Etymotic's, and the Sennheiser's. The Sennheiser CX300-B was the only one in my price range. Forget them. The Sennheiser's were too bassy for me; they drown out the treble. I eventually lucked on the reviews for the V-Moda's. They were rated excellent by Cnet, and I concur. The V-Moda's are better and cheaper than the Sennheiser's. The bass thump's, but does not drown out the middle and high ranges. If you only have about $40-$50 bucks to spend, spend it on the V-Moda Bass Frequency Earphones, even if you are a music purist. You can always adjust the bass, if your player has a graphic equalizer.

I have an obsession for headphones, constantly trying out any new ones on the market. These headphones are astonishing for the clarity and accuracy of tone; the bass in an "in ear" headphone is astonishing. I highly recommend them. I can also highly recommend the shipper, which performed as promised.
No more dislodging earbuds March 9, 2007 Harvey T. Moriyama (los angeles, ca usa) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
The V-Moda Bass Freq earbuds fit really well inside your ear. Proper earpiece is required for good fit and good sound. The thing I like best is that they do not fall out of my ear while I walk, workout or move my head. They also isolate the external sound very well. I use them at the gym and it isolates the noise from the neighboring treadmills and the sound from the earbuds is fairly good. I don't need to crank up the volume to overcome the outside noise. One thing that I am fearful of is the wires - they seem very thin and fragile. I hope the wires don't break and render the earbuds useless. They are light years better than the earbuds that came with my Iriver Clix.
