Probably the best ipaq yet December 11, 2007 R. Maybury (SC, USA) 55 out of 56 found this review helpful
I have owned several Pocket PCs, including a few earlier versions of the iPaq. Of the ones I have tried, this is probably the best, though its not a great leap forward. Having WiFi, Bluetooth, SDHC support (previous versions didn't support the new higher capacity cards that this one does - I have an 8Gb SD card in mine), a standard USB connection (previous iPaqs I owned use a proprietary USB connector) a relatively fast processor, the latest version of Windows Mobile all whilst retaining a relatively small form factor is a strong combination. Whilst many will opt for a Pocket PC phone (as my last Windows Mobile device was), having a seperate PDA from your phone has advantages for some e.g. if you are obliged to use a particular mobile phone for work (as I am) then you don't need the phone features on your PDA. With this device I can keep all of my personal contacts seperate from the business contacts on my phone and use the bluetooth feature to get my phone (a Blackberry Pearl) to dial any number I select on my iPaq. I have read other reviews on Amazon and can't say I have experienced any of the problems described. The screen on my iPaq works fine (no odd colours displayed) and windows media player has not yet crashed on my once (and I have listened to quite a lot of music and watched video on it). Overall, not a stunning leap forward but hard to find fault with it.
Great Pocket PC, Decent Price November 27, 2007 Judith S. C. Krew (Canton, OH USA) 18 out of 19 found this review helpful
I have been using this for a few weeeks and am entirely satisfied. Being a 3rd party/mod buff I like the fact that is has the power of my old hx4700(May it rest in peace). It has douple the rom for more apps WM6 accually uses ram as ram and rom as rom, somthing WM2003 SE did not do. The screen is smaller and less crackable (get the hint?) and fits nicer in my pocket, however VGA would have been nice. I would highly recommend over the competition, even the up and coming ipaq 211, for it is a quality build And in response to the box saying Ipaq 110: it is the same thing, It is the series that matters, all products in the series are almost exactly the same.
I love this thing.... March 21, 2008 F. Raucci (CT) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had an ipaq for years, and although it (3835) still worked perfectly, I was itching to update to a wifi version and I am so happy I did. I did tons of research before settling on the 111. I was willing to pay more money if the reviews justified it, but I kept finding rave reviews for the 111 and not so great reviews for some running a hundred or $200 MORE money. It recognized my wireless network immediately and runs super fast. I love it's expandability, although, as a basic user, I probably won't use a ton of extra space. I play a few games, read my email, but mostly use the calendar, contacts and notes features the most. I love this thing. I ALSO really miss having a cradle to dock this on, that is the only complaint I can come up with. I hope someone comes up with one SOON!
My First PDA/Pocket PC or How I Spent My Summer Bonus July 10, 2008 Denis-Mounie 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After researching PDAs for years now, sometimes on the verge of buying one only to give in to my inner Luddite and running out for another paper planner, I finally bit the bullet and bought the iPAQ 111 Classic Handheld. The good reviews are accurate and the few bad reviews are mostly vague and unspecific, focusing on stylus replacements and not much on performance. I've been using mine for three days now and have used almost every feature except for the bluetooth. I've downloaded a couple of programs to it from Handango with ease. I've set it up to send and receive from two email accounts- one internet based and the other through my ISP. No problems there. I've set appointments, set tasks and set a wakeup alarm- easier than setting my clock and more organized than the business cards with notes jotted on the back. I don't have Outlook on my Vista OS so I can't take advantage of syncing to my laptop, but it doesn't much matter as I've never used Outlook nor the Windows Mail and Windows Calendar that came with Vista. I'm in for a long evening of entering contacts manually but I've got a bottle of wine opened. Sometimes when I use the stylus, if I'm holding the unit awkwardly, I'll accidentally hit the email button but I think there's an option of turning those buttons off. If not, I'll just stop holding the unit awkwardly. There have been reviewers who tend to mistake the power button for the record button on the right side of the device and one claims to have recorded himself unknowingly. I haven't had this issue as the power button is at the far top and the record button is at the far bottom. Plus, you have to tap the "record" button on the screen as well to make it start recording. For me, it's a great product and my fiance likes it too. I may end up getting him one for Christmas or as a wedding present.

What a wonderful little PDA, it does just what it says. Can hop on line to check your e-mails via free wireless connections. IT's a wonderful little thing to have.
