A great deal! May 24, 2008 Sam Nelson (Englewood, CO United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The Drumshhh drums pads are great! For anyone trying to play guitar or bass while your drummer is wailing away on the drums, these pads are a must. They cut down the noise significantly and the bold colors are easy to see even when you are drumming. They install in seconds and mine have lasted through weeks of serious Rock Band sessions.
Rockband Rocks with Drumshhh Pads July 10, 2008 Matthew E. Shubart (SEA TOWN) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Very easy to install, quiets the drum pad although not completely eliminating the sound, looks awesome with the color ring left on the outside and the black in the center, get these AS SOON as possible to protect your drum set...
A product that simply cannot be beat June 29, 2008 Daniel Zuccarelli (Mount Laurel, New Jersey USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
[...] Installation was quite easy. One need only peel off the back and try not to act like a spaz when applying them. The fit is very tight, almost too tight for the red and green drums which resulted in a very small bit of wrinklage at the edges, although this didn't affect anything (and is practically impossible to see). The instructions state that the things can be removed without damaging your drum heads later on, but strongly hints that the actual Drumshhh pads probably won't survive the process. It's not a permanent mod, but it is a one-shot deal. As for how they work... the difference can be summed up thusly: stock Rock Band drums make a capital-T Thwack when you hit them. After installing the Drumshhh I would classify the sound as a small-t thwock. This might not sound like much, but it makes a big difference. Overall volume is probably half of what it was, but more importantly the character of the sound is changed quite drastically to a lower-pitched effect that is much less irritating overall. You'll have a much easier time hearing the game's soundtrack over your own hits with these things in place. Stick rebound is affected slightly as well. The felt obviously dampens a bit of the "springiness" of the stock drum heads, but the EVA foam underneath the felt itself restores much of that rebound, so the net result is pretty much a toss-up. I found that I needed to hit the drum heads very slightly harder than before, but this was an improvement to my playing, since I was no longer holding back my hits. If you like to play a bit on the heavier side then these are a huge improvement.
GET THIS THING!!! September 22, 2008 Y. Tian (San Diego, CA) Bottom line, if you play rock band, you will need this. This thing will reduce the drum set noise. Of course it won't make it silent, but it will reduce the noise a lot and it is a good protector for the drum set surface.
Easy fix to an obvious problem October 2, 2008 Jay D'Lay Anyone who's played Rock Band knows how annoying it can be to play with the drummer. The drums are just too loud, and nobody likes the sound of a wooden stick hitting plastic over and over again. If it actually sounded like a drum it might now be so bad. The fact is, you have to crank up the volume so you can hear the songs over the beating of the plastic drumset. This solves that problem. Very easy to apply, it doesn't effect the playability and it dampens the noise. My Rock Band members are much happier, and so am I!
