Lego Duplo October 5, 2007 Jean M. Curtacci (Summerville, SC United States) 25 out of 27 found this review helpful
My three year old daughter loves these blocks. I like them because they are compatable with the Lego Quatro, which have been her favorites for the last two years. They won't build the big structures you are used to building with quatro, but they have more variety to spark the imagination. My only complaint is there doesn't seem to be enough, they could have put twice as many blocks in this bucket!
Excellent toy August 30, 2008 New Leaf (India) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Bought this for my 3 year old niece. She uses this set everyday. The pieces are large and easy for a young child to handle. The other day she called to tell me that she was making a Lego castle for me :)
23-month-old loves this Duplo set August 20, 2008 sucheng (Silicon Valley) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My son got this last Christmas when he was 15 months old, and loved it immediately. He didn't "build" much with it at first (I've heard from other parents that kids don't really have the hand strength and coordination at that age) but enjoyed sorting the blocks and taking apart things that I made for him. Now, at 23 months, he is more into both building things - mostly towers or "helping" me build a house- as well as taking them apart. He likes naming all the colors of the blocks, and also puts the "car" in the garage and puts "George" (our name for the little guy) to bed in his house. I expect we'll get a lot of play out of this set for some years, though we may need to buy another set or two so he can build more complex things.
Lego is lego, skip immitators. August 28, 2008 Tomasz A. Wojewoda (Seattle, WA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great toy. Highly recommended. Kids love it, and I rather have them play with blocks than with guns or watch TV.
LEGO DUPLO - my 17-month-old's favorite toy November 26, 2008 David C. Gregory (Decatur, IL United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As a former lego kid, buying this toy for my 17-month-old was a no-brainer. I didn't realize however how much this toy teaches! Joshie first would take things apart that I put together for him, but now is starting to put things together himself! He's learning the shapes and how they stack. The pieces are too big for him to choke on, and when he has attempted to chew on them, he gets nowhere. If you remember the wonder of lego blocks, and want that for your developing toddler, I say GO FOR IT.
