Amazon.com Product Description Designed for any car, RV, or boat equipped with a cigarette lighter, the Jensen JP20 power inverter is an ideal device for drivers who need to entertain kids on long road trips or passengers who can't leave their work at home. The inverter works simply: just plug in an AC appliance, such as a small 13-inch TV or laptop computer, into the single AC outlet, and then connect the JP20's cigarette adapter into your vehicle's 12-volt DC port. Once connected, you can enjoy the benefits of any portable AC appliance while on the road, provided it doesn't consume more than 160 watts of continuous power (or 300 watts of peak power).

Works Great! March 20, 2006 The Dave (New York, NY) 24 out of 24 found this review helpful
Took it on a weeklong roadtrip in a 12 passenger van. Plugged it right into a cigarette lighter, then plugged in a Belkin powerstrip with 8 plugs (not grounded of course). Worked perfectly to charge several mobile phones, AA rechargeable batteries for a digital camera, a playstation portable, iPods, and a laptop, all at the same time in many instances. Very convenient when you don't have access to a power outlet on the road on a regular basis. Would highly recommend this instead of spending and keeping track of multiple cigarette adapters for portable gadgets. On a side note, just to be on the safe side, I'd use the high battery drain devices only when the engine is running (laptop/tv/dvd). The product does claim to have safety measures against leaving you stranded with a dead car battery, but better safe than sorry!
Works Great - Highly Recommended November 26, 2005 C. Corson (Columbus, OH USA) 27 out of 28 found this review helpful
I purchased this for various uses in our mini-van (DVD players, satellite radio, etc). It has performed flawlessly with no issues. It does not get hot (as others do) and operates quietly (as other products don't). Another strong feature is the fact that the fuse is a standard auto fuse which is VERY easy to find. Other products contain fuses which cause you to do massive searches on the internet to find a replacement. I highly recommend this product.
A great alternative June 7, 2002 18 out of 19 found this review helpful
I used to have an AC outlet in my old car; now that I have a new one I thought my days of sitting back driving and letting the kids watch movies was over. Not so with this item. It provides enough power to run my 13 inch tv. I've had it for a month and I haven't had any problems with it. I recommend it to anyone seeking to put an outlet in their car; for just about any device.
Does the job nicely June 2, 2005 Old Fogey (New York) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I've been using this unit for a few weeks to power a portable CD/MP3 player that already had an AC power adapter. It has performed flawlessly under that light load, and I am very satisfied. It is solidly made. It gets warm to the touch but not hot when plugged in. I followed the manual's recommendation to unplug it or turn it off when I start the engine; when I turn it on it emits a loud tone for half a second but is totally silent after that. My old Saab has a slightly smaller cigarette lighter socket than most American cars so I was a little worried that the cigarette lighter plug might not fit, but it works just fine. The built-in fuse is a standard automobile fuse, which should be easy to replace should it ever fail.
GREAT FOR THE PRICE January 2, 2006 R. L. Stone (Daytona Beach, Florida) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This unit powers my 17" (power draining) laptop just fine. I use it in my travels with my "Microsoft Streets & Trips 2006 with GPS Locator". I use this rather than one of the many small GPS devices, as I can't see them very well, and this unit has "Voice Prompt", so I rarely need to look at it anyway. I know that there are small "Voice Prompt" GPS units out there, but none under $80.00, that I can search the Web on. The unit gets warm to the touch, but not hot. A good value for the money!
