These Speakers Rock! October 4, 2007 Nathan A. Martin (Auburn, WA USA) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
These speakers Rock! They are much higher in fidelity than others I have tried/owned and can easily be heard on my motorcycle even at high speed. The cabling and volume control are higher quality and look like they will wear longer than others (less expensive ones will flap in the wind and eventually loosen wiring connections). Installing in helmet is VERY EASY and takes only a minute with no extra pieces or parts required. I use mine with my iPod and it sounds great in all riding conditions. I leave my iPod volume at max and simply use the inline volume control to turn it down. Full volume is too loud even when wearing earplugs underneath them. WAY BETTER THAN WEARING EARBUDS!!! Put your helmet on and forget about earbuds falling out or slipping. These would also work great for other sports that require wearing a helmet - like bicycling, snowboarding, ATVs, etc. Great speakers for the money!
use for GPS: Excellent results July 6, 2008 Larry Kahaner (Washington, DC) I bought these speakers to use with my Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS installed on my motorcycle. They inserted easily in my HJC helmet and the sound is loud enough even at high speeds. I made one change: I got rid of the wire/sound control cable and used a plain cable as the one they supplied is not long enough. I control the volume from the GPS which is easier anyway.
Good wired speaker solution February 17, 2008 B. Smith (Houston) I have Bluetooth set-up but bought these to install in my helmet for an upcoming long trip which will exceed the daily battery charge of my Bluetooth set-up. These are simple, easy to install. The speakers are a little bulky, but the Arai helmet has a large speaker cut-out area to accomodate them, which will not be true of all helmets. It's nice that the cord has a disconnect point up near the helmet chin strap (easy to find) and has a nice volume control wheel. I would have liked the cord to be just a few inches longer, since the reach my handlebar-mounted Garmin is a bit tight, but will be plenty long enough if plugging into an MP3 player in your jacket pocket or tank bag.
Just ok May 28, 2008 Keith Greving Although they arent the loudest speakers there fidelity makes up for it. They are a must if you take your bike on long trips. I personally like the speakers but would upgrade at first chance.
Not the best, though not the worst August 6, 2007 Brian Campbell (Republic of California) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
These barely sound as good as $20 earbuds do (still less bass), but they are a lot more comfortable and easy; slap the helmet on and plug in the sound and your ready to commute. BTW, been commuting by cycle off and on for 10 years.
