best product i've tried July 1, 2008 ali (maryland, usa) I've tried so many different products and nothing fixed my poofy, curly hair. I used this stuff and my hair never got poofy, plus it got rid of frizz and made my curls defined and more like spiral curls instead of just poofy curls! It's hands down the best product I've tried! It is pretty expensive but it is definitely worth it if you have the same hair type/hair problems as me. If you have wavy hair I wouldn't recommend it because you probably wouldn't get the same results. But I highly recommend it to anyone with curly hair that is frizzy or poofy.
The best for curly hair July 27, 2008 J. Figueroa (Virginia) I use this before I put on mousse and gel, and it makes a huge difference. I have long, thick, extremely curly hair and it beats frizz and gives extra definition. It makes my hair shiny and just great. I only have to use a little on my very long hair. I'd recommend it to any curly hair type.
Tames the Frizz! July 31, 2008 smoochgirl (Houston, TX) I have naturally curly hair that, oddly enough, I cannot diffuse because it becomes frizzy! Soooo, after towel-drying, I use an organic leave-in conditioner to detangle and allow me to brush easily(the Giovanni brand is affordable, available at my grocery store and works well, but I also use Elixir) followed by Be Curly mixed with the Confixor Liquid Gel. I mix about dime size of each in my palm and run through my hair. Then, I sprunch my hair with a towel to bring out bouncy curls and blow-dry only the roots of my hair, allowing the rest to dry naturally. I like to finish it with Pure Abundance Volumizing Spray, but sometimes use Giovanni's spray as it's half the cost. As far as the price goes, it is costly, but using it the way I describe, it lasts me about 5 or 6 months. I have long hair and wash it almost every day. The sprays will last me about 6 weeks. Be Curly can also be applied to dry hair. On particularly humid days when frizz gets the best of me, I squeeze a pea-size amount into my palm, rub hands together and work into my hair over my frizzy locks. It helps to wet hands with water and run through hair first, then finish with a couple spritzes of spray. I highly recommend it!
Magic for curly hair September 11, 2008 Eve in Decatur (Decatur, GA) This stuff was a lifesaver as I tried to grow out my pixie cut. My hair was a poofy helmet until I discovered the Be Curly curl enhancer. It made my hair so much curlier instead of poofy and I've used ever since. Five years later, my long, layered hair is past my shoulders and Be Curly keeps it springy and curly. I put it on in the shower after shampoo and conditioner, and after removing excess water from my hair. I use about a quarter-size amount and rub my hands together, then run the cream through my hair upside down. I pat the hair to make little ringlets (still upside down), then wrap the whole thing in a towel for about 5 minutes to set the curl. Again with my hair upside down I spray on some Fructis curling gel, pat a few times agan and voila. My hair air dries into gorgeous springy curls with no maintenance or styling tools. And don't forget: DO NOT BRUSH your curly hair!
Great but expensive January 2, 2008 Danielle Mari (Chicago, IL) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Maybe I'm weird, or maybe the other reviewers are weird... but I think it smells great, to start with. I have really fine hair that is naturally frizzy... as opposed to naturally curly. This stuff works great for me. It's light weight, so it doesn't look like I've got product in my hair. In fact, my hubby can still run his fingers through my curls and waves and not get sticky or stuck. I DO think a little goes a long way. If I put too much in, my hair gets sticky and stiff. I just work a gumball sized portion into my hair quickly after a shower with my fingers and let my mop air dry. No frizzies, nicely defined soft curls. Love it! I even use it dry in a pinch, though I do like their smoothing fluid better for that. My only gripe is that it's really expensive. I know it's all natural (whatever that really means) ingredients and that it was never tested on animals-- so I don't mind supporting Aveda because of that. But come on-- does it really have to be THAT expensive, guys? Oh- and one more caution? If you use it in the summer, bees will love your head because you smell like an uber-flower. That's the burden of botanicals!
